Automatic page merging

Send multi-page documents as a PDF or as separate photos. beres automatically detects when separate uploads belong to the same multi-page document and combines them. Manual merge and unmerge are correction tools, not required steps.

How automatic merging works

After extraction, beres determines whether separate uploads are pages of the same multi-page document.

The earliest received document becomes page 1. The other rows are folded into it, and Documents shows one row with a page-count badge. Each page keeps its existing extraction, so automatic merging does not use another extraction from your allowance.

If beres missed a merge

Only merge manually when separate rows really are pages of one document and beres left them separate.

  1. Open Documents.
  2. Tick at least two rows that belong to the same invoice.
  3. Click Merge pages and confirm.

The manual merge follows the same page ordering and does not use another extraction.

When manual merge is unavailable

Wait until extraction finishes. Invalid documents and documents already merged as a page cannot be selected. A later page already pushed or marked Processed must be unmarked before it can be folded behind an earlier page.

Review the merged document

Open it from Documents. The original pane shows the total page count and controls for moving between pages. You can also use the left and right arrow keys.

The entry combines the extracted lines from every page. Check the printed total against the combined line total.

Re-read overlapping photos

If two photos overlap, the same printed row may appear in both existing extractions and be counted twice. In the review workspace, click Re-read pages to read every page together and replace the current lines.

A re-read uses one extraction from your allowance and discards unsaved review edits. Use it only when the combined lines do not match the document.

If beres merged the wrong documents

Unmerge only when the pages do not belong to the same invoice.

  1. Open the merged document in the review workspace.
  2. Click Unmerge pages.
  3. Confirm that you want to split it back into separate documents.

Each page returns to Documents with the extraction it had before the merge. Unmerging does not use another extraction, and beres remembers the separation so it will not automatically merge that pair again. Unsaved review edits in the merged workspace are discarded.
